Venue love: Chester House Estate, Wellingborough.

A couple of months back I had the pleasure of joining Claire Obrien photography as her second shooter at Ellie and Will’s lovely day at Chester House Estate. Having planned my wedding a couple of years back I was surprised that I hadn’t heard of this venue before and I have to tell you- I fell in love with it!

Nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of Irchester, Northamptonshire, Chester House Estate stands as a timeless and enchanting wedding venue. With its rich history, Rustic vibe, and stunning grounds, it struck me as a perfect place to have a relaxed but beautiful wedding. In this blog post, we'll take you on a journey through the enchanting Chester House Estate, exploring the reasons why I think it’s a Lovley choice for a wedding.

The Barn

Chester House Estate boasts a rich and varied history, dating back to the 17th century. The estate is brimming with old-world charm, making it an ideal choice for those who appreciate the timeless beauty of historic properties. The 17th century Threshing Barn provides a rustic backdrop for your ceremony and reception which can accommodate up to 96-day guests. The addition of floor to ceiling fairy lights makes the space warm and inviting and sets a really romantic atmosphere for a wedding day.

Photo Locations

At the heart of the estate stands the magnificent Manor House. This historic building exudes character and charm, making it a wonderful choice as a backdrop for wedding group shots. After the group shots are done the grounds at Chester House are a absolute paradise for couples seeking gorgeous outdoor portraits. The rolling lawns, nearby fields and tranquil river provide countless possibilities for photographs.

A Blank Canvas for Your Vision

One of the standout features of Chester House Estate is its simplicity. The venue really lends itself to a host of different styles whether that’s classic, vintage, rustic, or a specific theme. I could see how you could use the space to create a host of different wedding tastes; I’d love to see a 40’s tea dance inspired wedding or a folklore inspired feast. But I must say I’d love to come back to do another cosy, elegant wedding like Ellie and Will’s.

The Chester House Team

At Ellie and Will’s wedding the Staff were wonderful! As another supplier sometimes it can be difficult to get information or even a drink out of venue staff but everyone at Chest House were lovely, kept us topped up with water and worked really hard getting the room turned around quickly for the wedding breakfast.

Onsite Accommodation

For the convenience of the wedding party and guests, Chester House Estate has an on-site accommodation. The charming guest rooms provide a comfortable and elegant space for the bridal party to relax and unwind during the morning portion of the day. One of the rooms in particular had a light and airy bedroom we used for some bridal portraits and the wedding party first look, which had the loveliest windowsill that worked perfectly for photos of the wedding bouquets.

Speaking of flowers- Ellie and Will used Eden Wild, a florist based on the estate and she created some stunning bouquets! I really love the use of deep purple and pinks.

If you're in search of a wedding venue that combines history, charm, and a warm atmosphere, Chester House Estate in Irchester should be at the top of your list. The estate's timeless beauty, stunning grounds, and lovely staff make this venue a standout choice for those looking to create unforgettable memories on their special day.
