Nicky & Debs at Stapleford Park

Back in July I had the pleasure to work with Claire O’brien as apart of Nicky & Debs’ gorgeous day at Stapleford Park Hotel, near Melton Mowbray. The interesting thing about second shooting for another photographer is prior to the day you’ve had no contact with the couple so I didn’t know what these brides were like or had planned for their day but wowzers- this day was so stunning it could have been a styled shoot.

The day was split into different locations across the Stapleford Park Hotel estate- The Brides got ready together in the onsite accommodation surrounded by their mums, family, and beautiful dogs! and yes, I had lot’s of cuddles.

The ceremony, conducted by Celebrant Claire Lawrence, took place in the Rose garden which between Rockabilly Rose the Florist and Nerissa Eve event stylist, had been transformed into a spectacular scene of colour, making the perfect backdrop for this wedding.

Whilst guests followed a path made up of signs the couple had made themselves and found their seats, Mango Acoustic duo set the mood. In one of may top five moments of the day- Debs and Nicky came down the aisle together accompanied by their dads and, yes you may have guessed it- dogs!

Claire Lawrence delivered a brilliantly personal ceremony and the brides followed this by exchanging funny but sweet words to one another before preforming a Hand Fastening and jumping a broom together into married life!

During the reception Mango Acoustic continued to warm up the party with thier ‘Mango Jukebox’ where guests could choose the songs they’d like to hear, and The Modern Con Man Magician was wowing everyone with his card tricks and light of hand magic!

As expected from the Ceremony styling the tables looked stunning and I had lots of fun wandering around capturing the various details of Nerissa Eve’s handy work.

Now, if you’ve been follwing me for a while you may know I’m a little obsessed with couples using thier wedding day to show off their personalities instead of sticking to the boring blueprint of a wedding day- You could tell these ladies had poured a lot of them selves into how they’d planned their day, but my favourite moment of Nicky and Deb’s day which is when they chose to incorporate a port toast into their speeches as a way of honouring Nicky’s military service.

Post meal Claire and I stole the couple away for a few moments of quiet as the sun was getting low in Stapleford Park’s picturesque walled garden.

Congratulations Nicky & Deb’s and thank you to Claire for having me as your 2nd for the day!
